Title:
HYSTERETIC DAMPER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/074229
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A hysteretic damper which combines resistance to deterioration and the ability to recover from a shape deformation by itself and which can be highly easily produced. The damper comprises a first member (10, 20, 30, 40, 50) constituted of a superplastic alloy and having the function of absorbing energy, second members (11, 21, 31, 41, 51) constituted of a superelastic alloy with the ability to recover from a shape deformation by itself and arranged parallel to the first member, and binding members (12, 22, 32, 52) which bind the ends of the first member and second members on each side together.  Specifically, the damper includes a restraint member (14, 34, 54) that restrains the first member and the second members from deforming in directions perpendicular to the damper working direction (F1, F2), and the second members have been disposed so that the first member is sandwiched therebetween.
