Abstract:
A card slot defines an IC card receiving space. A contact block has on one surface thereof a plurality of contacts respectively contacting a plurality of contact points provided on one surface of an IC card received in the card slot. A support mechanism supports the contact block, so as to be movable in a direction vertical to the one surface of the IC card received in the card slot, to be swingable on a first axis passing the center of the plurality of contacts on the contact block in an IC card inserting direction, and to be swingable on a second axis passing the center of the plurality of contacts on the contact block in an IC-card-width direction. An elastic member contacts the contact block at one point only to impart a force that presses the contacts on the contact block against the one surface of the IC card. A point at which a pressing force by the elastic member is given lies on an axis extending vertically after passing the intersection of the first and second axes.
