Abstract:
An ice maker capable of selectively generating pieces of ice having different transparencies from each other is disclosed.
The ice maker comprises: an ice-making chamber having an ice-making container in which ice-making water can be accommodated; a cooling unit for supplying cold to the ice-making chamber such that the ice-making water is cooled; an ice-making fan for circulating the cold to be supplied; an ice-making heater unit for supplying heat to the ice-making water during the cooling of the ice-making water; and a control unit for adjusting the temperature change rate of the ice-making container by controlling at least one of the cooling unit, the ice-making fan, and the ice-making heater unit such that any one type of ice from among different types of ice having different transparencies from each other is generated. The ice maker according to the present invention adjusts the temperature change rate of the ice-making container so as to have the transparency desired by a user.
