Abstract:
An identification device 1 is an identification device for identifying the type of a specimen 109 conveyed by a conveying means 108, and comprises: an illuminating optical system 107 which illuminates the specimen 109 with light from a light source; a light gathering optical system 113 which gathers Raman scattered light from the specimen 109; a spectroscopic element 117 which spectrally disperses the Raman scattered light; a light receiving element 119 which receives the Raman scattered light that has been spectrally dispersed by the spectroscopic element 117; and a data processing means 121 for acquiring spectral data of the Raman scattered light from the light receiving element 119 and performing an identification process. The optical axis of the illuminating optical system 107 and the optical axis of the light gathering optical system 113 intersect one another, and the illuminating optical system 107 is an image-forming optical system having a conveying surface side numerical aperture that is smaller than a conveying surface side numerical aperture of the light gathering optical system 113, or is a collimator optical system which converts the light from the light source into parallel light.
