Abstract:
Provided is an ignition coil control device capable of appropriately switching an energization time period while preventing an ignition coil from excessively generating heat, without using a current sensor. The ignition coil control device is provided with: an energization control unit (303) that performs energization control on an ignition coil (29) by first energization control (L) and second energization control (S) the energization time period of which is shorter than that of the first energization control (L); a cruise region determination unit (302) that determines that the operation region of a vehicle (1) falls within a cruise region (A1) on the basis of a throttle opening degree (Th) and an engine speed (Ne); and an integration counter (304) that is incremented every prescribed time period (T1) during execution of the first energization control (L) in the cruise region (A1), and that is decremented every prescribed time period (T2, T3) in other situations. When the counter value (C) of the integration counter (304) reaches the upper limit value (Cu), a cooling process of switching the first energization control (L) to the second energization control (S) is executed.
