Abstract:
This ignition coil has: a center core (30); a primary coil (10) wound around the center core (30); a secondary coil (20) wound around the primary coil (10); a side core (70) disposed around the secondary coil (20) and joined to the center core (30) to form a closed magnetic path; a case (50) for containing the center core (30), the primary coil (10), the secondary coil (20), and the side core (70); and an insulating resin (60) filled into the case (50). The side core (70) comprises: a wide section (70b) having a large width in the direction from the center core (30) toward the side core (70); and a narrow section (70a) having a smaller width than the wide section (70b). The narrow section (70a) is provided on the high-voltage side.
