Title:
IGNITION DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/057592
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is an ignition device for an internal combustion engine in which a secondary voltage generated during conduction of a primary current is suppressed, and an ion current is detected to control overlapping discharge. When a primary current is conducted to an ignition coil to generate a first secondary voltage, an overlapping time controller (40a) reduces the first secondary voltage by controlling and superimposing a DC-AC booster circuit (10a) and a voltage doubler circuit, and outputs, to a secondary coil, a first high voltage for preventing a discharge spark from occurring in a spark plug (60). When the primary current of the ignition coil is blocked and a second secondary voltage is generated, the overlapping time controller (40a) controls the DC-AC booster circuit (10a) and the voltage doubler circuit, superimposes the circuits with the second secondary voltage, and outputs, to a secondary coil, a second high voltage for inducing overlapping discharge in the spark plug (60).
