Title:
IGNITION DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/225018
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is an ignition device for an internal combustion engine that can improve ignitability by spark discharge generated in an ignition plug, and that can also avoid fuel consumption deterioration by optimizing power consumption for ignition. A superposition control means 31 of an internal combustion engine ignition device 1 superimposes a current on secondary side from a secondary current superposition means 50 to hold a secondary current at a first current value by satisfying a superposition control start condition after an ignition timing at which a primary current of an ignition coil 11A is cut off. Thereafter, when the change state of a secondary coil voltage assumed from a primary coil voltage satisfies a superposition reduction condition at a superposition control change timing, second superimposition control is performed to reduce the secondary current to a second current value which is lower than the first current value, whereby a discharge current is adjusted to be suitable for a flow rate of tumble flow acting within a plug gap of a spark plug 20, so that a discharge path of spark discharge is greatly expanded. Consequently, ignitability is increased, and power consumption by superimposition control is reduced.
