Abstract:
The opening and closing of a discharge switch (32) interposed between an auxiliary power supply (3) containing an energy-storage coil (330) and a low-voltage-side terminal (201) of a primary winding (20) of an ignition coil (2) is controlled on the basis of a threshold determination performed on a primary voltage (V1), i.e. the voltage applied to the primary side of the ignition coil (2), and/or a secondary current (I2), i.e. the current flowing through a secondary side. Electromagnetic energy introduced from the low-voltage side of the primary winding (20) of the ignition coil (2) after a discharge from the ignition coil (2) to a spark plug (1) starts can thus be regulated so as to be neither excessive nor insufficient.
