Abstract:
Provided is an ignition plug which is capable of ensuring both high air tightness and high resistance against disengagement. An ignition plug (1) is provided with a main metallic section (3) and a solid annular gasket (18). The main metallic section (3) has a male thread section (15) for mounting and a seat section (16) which protrudes outward in the radial direction. The gasket (18) is provided between the male thread section (15) and the seat section (16). The surface of the gasket (18) which is located on the side opposite the seat section (16) has formed therein the opening of a recess (41) having a depth in the axial direction (CL1). The gasket (18) has: an inner peripheral front end surface (351), the distance of which from at least a reference plane (VS) decreases toward the inner peripheral side, the reference plane (VS) being a plane which passes through the rear end of the recess (41) and which is perpendicular to the axis (CL2) of the gasket (18); and an outer peripheral front end surface (352) which is located closer to the outer peripheral side than the inner peripheral front end surface (351). The opening of the recess (41) is formed at a position closer to the inner peripheral side than the innermost periphery of the outer peripheral front end surface (352).
