Abstract:
An ignitting means for a discharge lamp of a reproducer, e.g. for a discharge lamp of an electrostatic reproducer of the type in which a moving light source incrementally illuminates an object to be reproduced and the reflected ray from the object is electrostatically recorded on a rotary drum. In this ignitting means, a lamp current supplied to the discharge lamp has a substantially rectangular wave form to thereby eliminate or reduce the substantially unilluminating period in light-output wave form of the discharging lamp. According to this invention, copies of high quality may be obtained in, particularly, the above-mentioned type of reproducer in which the illumination is in a moment.
