Description:
Illuminated large size stand for poster

The present invention relates to a large illuminated poster frame, comprising a box-like body part and an openable cover part hinged to the body part, to which cover part a desired poster may be attached.

Such large illuminated poster frames are typically provided with a cover part, hinged at its top edge, which normally requires at least two persons to replace the poster. The replacement work also takes up a considerable amount of time and often requires the use of a lifting platform or the like.

The aim of the present invention is to provide a solution which allows safe and rapid poster replacement by one person. To achieve this aim, the poster frame according to the invention is characterised in that the cover part is hinged at its lower edge to the body part, and that the cover part is supported on the body part by its upper edge by means of at least one flexible attachment means, which is arranged to travel via a first turning means provided in the upper part of the body part and further via a second turning means provided in the lower part of the body part to an attachment point formed in the body part, which is located at a point between the said first and second turning means. The illumination of the poster frame may take place, for example, by means of a light source placed inside the body part.

The invention is described in greater detail in the following, with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which:

Figure 1 shows a schematic perspective view of an embodiment of the invention, Figure 2 shows a side view of the embodiment of Figure 1 with the cover part in the lowered position,

Figure 3 shows a side view of the embodiment of Figure 1 with the cover part in the closed position,

Figure 4 shows a front view of the embodiment of Figure 1 with the cover part in the lowered position, and

Figure 5 shows a front view of the embodiment of Figure 1 with the cover part in a closed position.

The embodiment according to the Figures comprises a box-like body part 1, to which a cover part 2 is hinged by its lower edge, the cover part being intended for receiving the desired poster. The attachment of the poster may take place, for example, by means of quick-release fasteners known as such (not shown). There is a desired number of lower edge hinges 3 depending on the size of the poster frame. In the solution according to the invention, the cover part 2 is supported in the operating position by its upper edge 4 on the body part 1 by means of the flexible attachment means 9. The flexible attachment means 9 is preferably a rubber cord, which is comprised of several rubber thread fibres arranged inside fabric sheathing. The rubber cord 9 is arranged to travel via the turning means, for example rollers 6 and 8, fixed to the body part 1 on both vertical side edges of the body part. The rubber cord is fixed to the edge 4 of the cover part 2 and travels via the first roller 6 arranged in the upper part region 5 of the body part 1 and via the second roller 8 arranged in the lower region 7 of the body part to the fixed attachment point 10 located in the area between the rollers. The rubber cord is dimensioned in such a way that when the cover part 2 is opened, it is able to descend to an essentially horizontal position, in which it is easy for one person to replace the poster, while the cover part acts as a worktop. The poster frame according to the invention enables one person to replace a poster safely within a few minutes.
