Abstract:
A backlight (2) is provided with a light source (5), a plurality of light guide bodies (7, 17) which surface-emit light inputted from the light source (5), and a reflecting material (6). The reflecting material (6) is arranged at a position facing a surface on the opposite side to a light emitting surface (7a). The light guide body (7) and the light guide body (17) are adjacent to each other, and a protruding section (20) having a curved surface is arranged in a region, which is on a reflecting material (6) surface facing the light guide bodies (7, 17) and corresponds to a region between the light guide body (7) and the light guide body (17). Thus, an illuminating apparatus having further improved luminance uniformity is provided.
