Abstract:
A backlight device 12 according to the present invention is provided with: LEDs 17; a chassis 14 that has a bottom plate portion 14a and accommodates the LEDs 17; a wavelength conversion sheet 20 disposed facing but away from the side of the LEDs 17 that emits light, and containing a fluorescent substance that converts the wavelength of the light from the LEDs 17; a reflector sheet 19 that reflects the light from the LEDs 17 toward the wavelength conversion sheet 20, and has at least a bottom-side reflector portion 19a disposed in a similar manner to that of the bottom plate portion 14a, and a rising reflector portion 19b that rises from the bottom-side reflector portion 19a toward the wavelength conversion sheet 20; and a coloring portion 23 provided in at least a portion of the rising reflector portion 19b to exhibit a color closer to the color of the light of the LEDs 17 than that of the bottom-side reflector portion 19a.
