Abstract:

This illuminating device that illuminates a region to be illuminated, said region having the first direction and the second direction intersecting the first direction, is provided with: a light source that emits coherent light; and a diffractive optical element that diffracts the coherent light inputted from the light source. The diffractive optical element diffracts the inputted coherent light such that the width of the region, said width being in the second direction, gradually increases in the first direction of the region from the side closer to the diffractive optical element.
