Abstract:
A backlight (2) is a tandem-type backlight. The backlight (2) is provided with: a plurality of light emitting units (11), each of which includes a light source (5) and a light guide body (7) that diffuses light emitted from the light source and outputs the light from a light emitting surface; and a substrate (4) which fixedly arranges the light source (5) and is connected to the light guide body (7). On a light guide body (7) surface facing the substrate (4), a protruding section (12) for alignment with the substrate is formed, and on the substrate (4), a through hole (13) wherein the protruding section (12) fits is formed. A fit-in section (B) (aligning section) for the protruding section (12) and the through hole (13) is arranged on the side closer to a light emitting section (7b) than a connecting region (A) between the light guide body (7) and the substrate (4). In the tandem-type illuminating device, the light source and the light guide body are highly accurately aligned with each other, luminance uniformity is improved and mounting failure of the light guide body can be easily identified.
