Description:
Description Illuminating Device Technical Field

The present invention relates to an illuminating device, particularly a spotlight.

Background Art

With the continuously improvement of material and culture levels, people have higher and higher requirements on living environment, particularly interior environment. In the inte ¬ rior environment, different decorations are usually arranged on walls to emphasize atmosphere. Therefore, lights are needed to coordinate, and different light selections often achieve unexpected effects. In order to meet requirements of people, interior designers usually use a spotlight, which is capable of producing a scallop-shaped light spot on a wall. Said scallop-shaped light spots seem to be more elegant and harmonic, which is capable of significantly increasing aes- thetic perception of the interior environment.

In the past time, a spotlight utilizing a halogen lamp as light source is generally used, in order to obtain such a scallop-shaped light spot. However, as the problem of energy shortage becomes more critical, people pay more attention to energy-saving light sources, which are environmentally pro ¬ tective. And LED light sources, for having characteristics of energy-saving, long lifetime and high efficiency, are more and more valued. Thus, it becomes a trend that LED light sources are used to replace halogen lamps. However, as LED light sources are solid light sources, light emitted thereby, after the same is assembled on spotlights, can hardly form a satisfying scallop-shaped light spot on the wall.

To solve said technical problem, Royal Philips Electronics develops a spotlight utilizing LED as light source. Such a spotlight has a specially designed lens, lights exiting through said lens being capable of projecting a scallop- shaped light spot on a wall. However, such a lens has a very complex structure, is therefore hard to produce and has a high cost. Moreover, such kind of spotlight can only project a single scallop-shaped light spot on the wall.

In addition, in the prior art, people also try to use a spe ¬ cially made reflector, instead of lens. However, the scallop- shaped light spot produced by spotlight having a reflector of the above mentioned type fails to have an ideal effect. Summary of the Invention

In order to solve the above mentioned technical problem, the present invention provides an illuminating device, particu ¬ larly a spotlight. The illuminating device according to the present invention is capable of projecting an ideal scallop- shaped light spot on a wall, while the structure thereof is simple and cost is low.

The object of the present invention is achieved by an illumi ¬ nating device in such a manner, viz. said illuminating device comprises: a heat sink including a base body defining an ac- commodating cavity; at least one light source arranged in the accommodating cavity; and a lens closing the light source within the accommodating cavity, wherein the illuminating device further comprises a barrier structure arranged down ¬ stream of the lens in a light emergent direction of the light source, the barrier structure barricades a part of light ex ¬ iting through the lens, so that the illuminating device pro ¬ jects a scallop-shaped light spot on a lighted surface. In an embodiment of the present invention, light exiting from the lens usually forms a cone light beam, and the barrier struc ¬ ture is capable of barricades a part of light of the cone light beam, so that the illuminating device projects a scal ¬ lop-shaped light spot on the wall, which has a defined bound ¬ ary .

According to the present invention, it is provided that the barrier structure includes a barrier wall extending in the light emergent direction, and the barrier wall forms a ring shape surrounding an emergent surface of the lens, an inner surface of the barrier wall barricades a part of light exit ¬ ing through the lens. The barrier structure according to the present invention is actually configured as ring-shaped, light exiting from the lens enters through one opening of the ring-shaped barrier structure and exits through another open ¬ ing, wherein a part of light will be blocked by the inner surface of the barrier wall of the barrier structure, so that the illuminating device forms a scallop-shaped light spot having a defined boundary on the wall.

It is preferable that the inner surface of the barrier struc ¬ ture is configured as reflective surface. In an embodiment of the present invention, as a part of light exiting through the lens will be blocked by the inner surface, and the blocked light will be reflected by the inner surface, in particular, the inner surface facing the wall will reflect light pro ¬ jected thereon to the wall, another scallop-shaped light spot will be projected in the shadow region. Thus, the illuminat ¬ ing device according to the present invention is capable of projecting multiple scallop-shaped light spots on the wall. According to a preferable embodiment of the present inven ¬ tion, it is provided that the barrier structure is composed of at least one barrier ring, an inner circumferential sur ¬ face of the barrier ring forming the inner surface. Such kind of barrier ring can be simply formed on the illuminating device, so that an ideal scallop-shaped light spot is formed without great structural change of the illuminating device and with relative low cost.

It is preferable that the barrier structure is composed of one barrier ring, which is assigned to all of the light sources. In some embodiments, the illuminating device may have one single light source. Therefore, it is enough to equip said light source with one barrier ring. In other embodiments, the illuminating device may have a plurality of light sources. In this case, a barrier ring can be equipped commonly for these light sources, so as to enable the illumi ¬ nating device to produce an ideal scallop-shaped light spot.

It is optional that the barrier structure is composed of a plurality of barrier rings, which are respectively assigned to at least one of the light sources. In a situation that the illuminating device has a plurality of light sources, a plu ¬ rality of barrier rings can be arranged. Thus, an ideal scal ¬ lop-shaped light spot can be formed on the wall, and in some cases, multiple scallop-shaped light spots having a defined boundary may be formed on the wall.

It is advantageous that the plurality of barrier rings are formed in one piece. In this case, it is easier to arrange the barrier rings on the lens .

It is preferable that the barrier structure is bonded on the lens. In order to firmly fix the barrier structure on the lens, a groove can be pre-opened on the lens, so that the barrier wall of the barrier structure can be inserted into and then bonded in the groove.

According to another preferable embodiment of the present in- vention, it is provided that the lens is arranged in the ac ¬ commodating cavity, so that one side of the lens facing away from the light source keeps a predetermined interval with an opening of the accommodating cavity, and a part of an inner wall of the accommodating cavity between the side of the lens facing away from the light source and the opening forms a barrier wall. In the present example, there is no need to ar ¬ range a separate barrier structure, as a part of the heat sink constitutes the barrier structure, which reduces costs to a large extent. According to further another preferable embodiment of the present invention, it is provided that the lens has a circum ¬ ferential wall extending on the side of the lens facing away from the light source, and the circumferential wall forms the barrier wall. In the present embodiment, the barrier struc- ture is formed integrally with the lens as one piece, which dispenses with steps of aligning and bonding the barrier structure with the lens and reduces production difficulty.

It is preferable that one side of the lens facing the light source has at least one micro-lens structure, wherein the barrier structure is position matched with the micro-lens structure. As the micro-lens structure is used to process light from the light source corresponding to it, it is more advantageous to project a scallop-shaped spotlight on the wall, if the barrier structure is position matched with the micro-lens structure. According to the present invention, it is provided that the light source is a LED light source, which has advantages of long lifetime, high luminescence efficiency and environmental protection . It is to be understood that the features of the various exem ¬ plary embodiments described herein may be combined with each other, unless specifically noted otherwise.

Detailed Description of the Embodiments

In the following detailed description, reference is made to the accompanying drawings, which form a part hereof, and in which is shown by way of illustration specific embodiments in which the invention may be practiced. In this regard, direc ¬ tional terminology, such as "top", "bottom", "front", "back", is used in reference to the orientation of the figures being described. Because components of embodiments of the present invention can be positioned in a number of different orienta ¬ tions, the directional terminology is used for purposes of illustration and is in no way limiting. It is to be understood that other embodiments may be utilized and structural or logical changes may be made without facing away from the scope of the present invention. The following detailed de ¬ scription, therefore, is not to be taken in a limiting sense, and the scope of the present invention is defined by the ap ¬ pended claims.

Fig. 1 shows a schematic diagram of the first example of the illuminating device 100 according to the present invention. It can be seen from the figure that the illuminating device comprises: a heat sink 1 including a base body 11 defining an accommodating cavity 12 (see Fig. 5); at least one light source 2 arranged in the accommodating cavity 12 (see Fig. 5) ; and a lens 3 closing the light source 2 within the accom- modating cavity 12. It can further be seen from the figure that the illuminating device 100 further comprises a barrier structure arranged downstream of the lens 3 in a light emer ¬ gent direction of the light source 2, the barrier structure barricades a part of light exiting through the lens 3, so that the illuminating device 100 projects a scallop-shaped light spot on the lighted surface. In an embodiment in accor ¬ dance with the present invention, the barrier structure in ¬ cludes a barrier wall extending in the light emergent direc ¬ tion, and the barrier wall forms a ring shape surrounding an emergent surface of the lens 3, an inner surface of the bar ¬ rier wall barricades a part of light exiting through the lens 3.

In the first example of the present invention, the illuminat ¬ ing device 100 comprises a plurality of light sources 2 con- figured as LED light sources. Therefore, the barrier struc ¬ ture is composed of a plurality of barrier rings 4, each thereof being assigned to at least one of the plurality of light sources 2. In the example as shown in Fig. 1, the bar ¬ rier structure includes three barrier rings 4 being formed in one piece, which simplifies the assembly complexity.

Fig. 2 shows a schematic diagram of the lens 3 and the bar- rier structure of the illuminating device as shown in Fig. 1. It can be seen from the figure that the barrier structure in ¬ cluding a plurality of barrier rings 4 is fixed on the lens 3, wherein the region surrounded by the barrier rings 4 is the emergent surface of the lens 3. According to an embodi ¬ ment of the present invention, the barrier structure can be bonded on the lens 3. Certainly, in order that the assembly is easier and the fixed connection of the barrier structure and the lens 3 is firmer, a pre-arranged groove 32 can also be opened on the lens 3, an edge of the barrier rings 4 can be inserted into said groove, and then be fixed on the lens 3 by bonding, which can be clearly seen in the cross section diagram of the lens 3 and the barrier structure as shown in Fig. 3. Moreover, it can further be seen from Fig. 3 that one side of the lens 3 facing the light source 2 has at least one micro-lens structure 31, wherein the barrier structure is po ¬ sition matched with the micro-lens structure 31. It can also be seen from the figure that a barrier ring 4 is arranged re ¬ spectively at positions on the emergent surface of the lens 3 corresponding to each micro-lens structure 31. Thus, after light from the light source 2 exits from the emergent surface through the micro-lens structures 31, a part of the light is blocked by the barrier rings 4, and then forms an ideal scal ¬ lop-shaped light spot on the lighted surface, such as on the wall.

Fig. 4 shows a schematic diagram of the second example of the illuminating device 100 according to the present invention. The only difference between the second example according to the present invention and the first example of the illuminat- ing device as shown in Fig. 1 lies in the barrier structure. In the present example, the barrier structure is composed of only one barrier ring 4, which surrounds the whole opening of the accommodating cavity 12. In other words, the barrier ring 4 is used as the only barrier structure for all the light sources 2.

A cross section diagram of the second example of the illumi ¬ nating device 100 according to the present invention is shown in Fig. 5. It can be seen from the figure that the lens 3 is arranged in the accommodating cavity 12, one side of the lens 3 facing away from the light source 2 keeps a predetermined interval with the opening of the accommodating cavity 12, and a part of an inner wall of the accommodating cavity 12 be- tween the side of the lens 3 facing away from the light source 2 and the opening forms the barrier wall. In normal case, the emergent surface of the lens 3 assembled in the ac ¬ commodating cavity 12 shall be flush with the opening of the accommodating cavity 12, while in the present example, the base body 11 further includes a ring-shaped circumferential wall 13 extending at the general position of the opening of the accommodating cavity 12, and the ring-shaped circumferential wall 13 forms the barrier wall.

In another example of the present invention, a separate bar- rier ring 4 can also be equipped, which can be sequentially fixed at the opening of the accommodating cavity 12.

Fig. 6 shows a schematic diagram of a variant of the illumi ¬ nating device 100 as shown in Fig. 4. It can be seen from the figure that the lens 3 is arranged in the accommodating cav- ity 12, in other words, the emergent surface of the lens 3 is below the opening of the accommodating cavity 12. The above mentioned structure can be more clearly seen from the cross section diagram of the variant as shown in Fig. 7. A part of the inner wall of the accommodating cavity 12 constitutes the barrier wall. Fig. 8 shows a schematic diagram of the lens of a third exam ¬ ple of the illuminating device 100 according to the present invention. As other structures of the third example as shown in Fig. 8, with exception of the lens 3 and the barrier structure, are identical with that of the first and the sec ¬ ond examples, only the lens 3 and the barrier structure are described here.

It can be seen from Fig. 8 that the barrier structure also includes three barrier rings 4, which are in connection with each other. However, said barrier rings 4 are formed integrally with the lens 3 as one piece, which can be clearly seen from the cross section diagram as shown in Fig. 9. Such an integral structure dispenses a process, in which a barrier structure shall be assembled later. Fig. 10 shows a schematic diagram of a variant of the third example of the illuminating device 100 according to the pre ¬ sent invention. The difference between said variant and the third example as shown in Fig. 8 lies in that the illuminat ¬ ing device 100 comprises only one barrier ring 4 used as bar- rier structure. Said barrier ring 4 extends outwards on an edge of the emergent surface of the whole lens 3. Fig. 11 shows a cross section diagram of the variant as shown in Fig. 10. It can be seen from the figure that the barrier ring 4 is formed integrally with the lens 3 as one piece. In all examples of the present invention, the inner circum ¬ ferential surface of the barrier ring 4 used as barrier structure or the inner wall of the accommodating cavity 12 is configured as reflective surface. As a part of light exiting through the lens 3 will be blocked by the barrier structure, and the blocked light will be reflected by the reflective surface, in particular, the reflective surface facing the wall will reflect light projected thereon to the wall, an ¬ other scallop-shaped light spot will be projected in the shadow region. Thus, the illuminating device 100 according to the present invention is capable of projecting multiple scal- lop-shaped light spots on the wall.

The above is merely preferred embodiments of the present in ¬ vention but not to limit the present invention. For the per ¬ son skilled in the art, the present invention may have vari ¬ ous alterations and changes. Any alterations, equivalent sub- stitutions, improvements, within the spirit and principle of the present invention, should be covered in the protection scope of the present invention.
