Abstract:
[Problem] To make speckles unobtrusive and effectively minimize unevenness in the brightness in a region illuminated in an overlapping manner by light diffracted by a holographic recording medium or the like. [Solution] The following are provided: optical elements (50) including a holographic recording medium (55) that can reproduce an image of a reference member; and an illumination apparatus (60) that shines coherent light on the optical elements (50) such that said coherent light scans the holographic recording medium (55). The illumination apparatus (60) has a light source that emits coherent light and a scanning device (65) that: can adjust a reflection angle at which the coherent light emitted by the light source is reflected; and scans the holographic recording medium (55) with the reflected coherent light. The light source has a plurality of light-source units that emit a plurality of coherent light beams, each of which has a different wavelength band. The holographic recording medium (55) has a plurality of recording regions which are scanned respectively by the plurality of coherent light beams reflected by the scanning device (65). Each of said recording regions has an interference pattern that diffracts the coherent light of the corresponding wavelength band. The optical elements (50) cause the plurality of coherent light beams, diffracted by the interference patterns in the plurality of recording regions, to overlap in an illuminated region, reproducing an image of the abovementioned reference member.
