Abstract:
An illumination device (11) comprising: a light-guide plate (15); and a light source unit (10) having a substrate (12) and a plurality of LED chips (16) arranged upon the substrate (12), and arranged on a light incident section (15a) of the light-guide plate (15) at a position at which the emitted light from the LED chips (16) is incident. The LED chips (16) are arranged so as to form a plurality of columns upon the substrate (12), and are arranged so as to line up in a direction orthogonal to the columns, between each column.
