Abstract:
Provided is an illumination device in which a substrate cover can be attached easily. The disclosed illumination device includes: a cold-cathode tube (17); a chassis (14) in which the cold-cathode tube (17) is housed; a control substrate (40) that is attached to the base plate (14a) of the chassis (14); and a substrate cover (60) that is attached to the base plate (14a) and that is arranged so as to cover the control substrate (40). The illumination device is characterized in that: the base plate (14a) has a projection (52) that projects toward the substrate cover (60); and the projection (52) supports the substrate cover (60) when the chassis (14) is installed in a state such that the plate surface (14a1) of the base plate (14a) is arranged along the vertical direction.
