Abstract:
The disclosed backlight device (illumination device) (12) is provided with: an LED (light source) (17); a light guide member (19) arranged so that the edge part faces the LED (17) and guiding to the light emitting side the light incident to the edge part from the LED (17); and a reflective sheet (reflective member) (21) arranged in contact with the surface of the light guide member (19) and reflecting the light in the light guide member (19). When the reflective sheet (21) is divided into at least a first region (21A) nearer the LED (17) and a second region (21B) farther from the LED (17), then, compared to the second region (21B), the first region (21A) has larger x and y chromaticity coordinate values in the CIE 1931 chromaticity diagram.
