An illumination device (12) comprises: a light source (17); a light guiding plate (16) further comprising a light entry face (16b) and a light emission face (16a); a chassis (14) further comprising a main body part (141) which covers the rear face (16c) of the light guiding plate (16), a band-shaped projection part (142) which projects further outward than the light entry face (16b), and a linear end part (143) which extends in a linear shape along the light entry face (16b); a light source support member (19) further comprising a support part (191) which supports the light source (17), and an attachment part (192) which, in a state in which an end part (193) protrudes further outward than the linear end part (143) and extends in a linear shape following the linear end part (143), is allocated on the front-side plate face of the projection part (142); a screw part (21) which passes through the projection part (142) and the attachment part (192) from the rear side of the projection part (142); and a screw receiving part (131) which sandwiches the projection part (142), etc., together with the screw part (21).
