This backlight device (illumination device) (12) is provided with: an LED drive circuit substrate (power source substrate) (30) that can supply power; a positive-electrode-side wiring (31) of which one end is connected to the LED drive circuit substrate (30); a positive-electrode-side LED substrate (positive-electrode-side light source substrate) (34) to which an LED (light source) (24) is mounted and to which the other end of the positive-electrode-side wiring (31) is connected; a negative-electrode-side wiring (32) of which one end is connected to the LED drive circuit substrate (30); a negative-electrode-side LED substrate (negative-electrode-side light source substrate) (35) to which an LED (24) is mounted and to which the other end of the negative-electrode-side wiring (32) is connected; and a relay wiring (33) that relays the power supply to from the positive-electrode-side LED substrate (34) side to the negative-electrode-side LED substrate (35) side by one end being connected to the positive-electrode-side LED substrate (34) and the other end being connected to the negative-electrode-side LED substrate (35).
