Abstract:
The backlighting device (12) is provided with: a chassis (14) having a light-emitting section (14c) for emitting light; LEDs (17) localized towards the edges of the chassis (14); a light-guiding sheet (19), which is held so as to be disposed more centrally than the LEDs (17) inside the chassis (14) and is for guiding the light from the LEDs (17) to the light-emitting section (14c) side; a duct member (22), which is disposed on the opposite side of the chassis (14) from the light-emitting section (14c) side and has a vent passage (23) therein and which is obtained from a composite sheet material (37) comprising a resin core material (38) that forms a sheet and a pair of metal sheets (39, 40) that are disposed on the front and the back of the resin core material (38); and heat-radiating LED-attachment sections (30), which are provided on the duct member (22) and one portion of which is disposed so as to face the vent passage (23) while another portion protrudes into the chassis (14) and is where the LEDs (17) are attached.
