Abstract:
In the present invention, a backlight unit (20) for irradiating light towards a display panel (4) comprises the following: LEDs (22), a back light chassis (21) having a back surface lateral wall portion (21a) for supporting the LEDs (22), an insulating frame body (24) that forms a space covering a surface on the side of the back surface lateral wall portion (21a) that is opposite the side that supports the LEDs (22); partition parts (24a) that partition the space within the insulating frame body (24) into a plurality of regions; and exhaust fans (25) for exhausting the air within the insulating frame body (24) and the air from air intakes (24c) that allow air to flow into the insulating frame body (24), the air intakes (24c) being provided to the insulating frame body (24) in correspondence with regions partitioned by the partition parts (24a).
