Title:
ILLUMINATION DEVICE AND ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM INCLUDING ILLUMINATION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/131097
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An illumination device comprising: one or more semiconductor light sources; a temperature control unit with which the semiconductor light sources are provided to control the temperature of the semiconductor light sources to a desired temperature; and a dew condensation determination unit which determines the probability of dew condensation in the illumination device on the basis of at least one of a temperature associated with the illumination device and an ambient state of the illumination device. In the illumination device, if it is determined by the dew condensation determination unit that there is the probability of dew condensation, a temperature-adjustment mode selection control unit, on the basis of a priority item of operation control for the illumination device and the characteristics of each semiconductor light source, selects a dew condensation suppression mode as a temperature adjustment mode for the temperature control unit, and controls the temperature of the temperature control unit. The dew condensation suppression mode is a temperature adjustment mode for setting the temperature control unit to a temperature higher than a predetermined temperature and not higher than an upper limit of usable temperature of the semiconductor light source.
