Abstract:
For the purpose of alleviating vignetting of illumination light by a structure and performing illumination whereby the difference between a bright part and a dark part of an object is less noticeable, the illumination device (4) pertaining to the present invention is provided with: a light emitting part having an emission end for emitting illumination light; a diffusing optical member (8) disposed along a circumferential direction about a predetermined axis and provided with an incidence end disposed facing the emission end, the diffusing optical member (8) for guiding illumination light incident from the incidence end while diffusing the illumination light, and emitting the illumination light from the surface thereof; and a reflective layer for reflecting the illumination light radially outward, the reflective layer being disposed adjacent to the radially inward surface of the diffusing optical member (8); an angle about the axis of an emission region (A) of illumination light in the diffusing optical member (8) decreasing progressively away from the incidence end in the axial direction.
