Abstract:
An illumination device (13) for illuminating an image-capturing target object to be image-captured by a camera (11), including a current adjusting device (26) that adjusts currents that are made to flow through LEDs on four LED mounting substrates (22) having a large number of LEDs (21) mounted thereon, wherein the four LED mounting substrates are disposed so as to form a rectangular frame centered at the optical axis of the camera as viewed from the image-capturing target object side, and the LEDs on the individual LED mounting substrates are slanted at predetermined angles so as to be oriented toward the image-capturing target object. The current adjusting device divides each of the LED mounting areas of the individual LED mounting substrates into a plurality of illumination areas (25) and adjusts, on a per-illumination-area basis, currents that are made to flow through the LEDs on the individual LED mounting substrates.
