Abstract:
The disclosed illumination device is provided with: a light-guide; a plurality of light sources arrayed along an end face of the light-guide; an optical element that collimates the light emitted by the light sources and inputs said collimated light into the light-guide; and a plurality of stripe-shaped switching regions provided inside the light-guide along the propagation direction of light propagating inside the light-guide. Each switching region can switch between a propagation state, in which the light propagating inside the light-guide is not emitted outside the light-guide, and an emission state, in which the light propagating inside the light-guide is emitted outside the light-guide.
