Abstract:
Obtained are an illumination device and a liquid crystal display apparatus that are capable of reducing unevenness of illumination light and/or generation of a hotspot. The illumination device is characterized by comprising: a light source unit (10) that emits illumination light in the optical axis direction; a primary reflective part that reflects the illumination light, which has been emitted by the light source unit (10), toward the surroundings of the light source unit (10) and in a direction away from the optical axis direction; a secondary reflective part that is composed of a group of sheets capable of being combined with each other in the surroundings of the light source unit (10) and that further reflects the illumination light, which has been reflected by the primary reflective part, in a direction away from the optical axis direction.
