Abstract:
An illumination device for controlling the size of an illumination area comprised of a first optical unit, a second optical unit, a first driver (80) and a second driver (90), wherein the first optical unit generates a first beam having a first divergence angle so as to form a first illumination field (130) having the maximum illuminance at the center, the second optical unit generates a second beam having a second divergence angle so as to form a second illumination field (140) having the maximum illuminance at the center, the first driver (80) selectively provides a first or a third drive current to the first optical unit so as to control the illuminance of the first illumination field (130), the second driver (90) selectively provides a second or a fourth drive current to the second optical unit so as to control the illuminance of the second illumination field (140), a first illumination area is formed when the first driver (80) provides the first drive current and the second driver (90) provides the second drive current, a second illumination area is formed when the first driver (80) provides the third drive current and the second driver (90) provides the fourth drive current, the first illumination area is different from the second illumination, and an illumination method for controlling the size of an illumination area.
