An illumination device (1A) is provided with an elongated chassis (10), a plurality of light-emitting elements (32), a plurality of lenses (50), an elongated mounting substrate (31), an elongated holding member (40), and a heat dissipating member (20). The chassis (10) contains a support (14a) for supporting the lengthwise edge of the mounting substrate (31) and a first latching member (14b) for fitting and securing the holding member (40) on the chassis (10). The holding member (40) contains a plurality of second latching members for fitting and securing each of the plurality of lenses (50) to the holding member (40) and an elastic biasing member for elastically biasing the lengthwise edge of the mounting substrate (31) towards the support (14a). The mounting substrate (31) is sandwiched by and secured between the elastic biasing member and the support (14a), and the heat dissipating member (20) is sandwiched by and secured between the mounting substrate (31) and a bottom wall (11) while being in close contact with the mounting substrate (31) and the bottom wall (11).
