Abstract:
Provided is an illumination device wherein it is possible to reduce the thickness of the illumination device while preventing bugs from entering. The outer circumferential edge of a translucent cover (7) is formed with an attachment unit (71) bent to have a substantially U-shape. As a consequence, a space equipped with illumination components such as an LED module (2) and a circuit substrate (5) is formed. Moreover, the outer circumferential edge of a chassis (1) is formed with an edge (14) bent to have a substantially S-shape in cross-sectional view. The edge (14) of the chassis (1) is inserted into the attachment unit (71) and joining sections (711, 141) where the chassis (1) and the translucent cover (7) join with each other are formed in the interior of the aforementioned space. Additionally, an annular elastic material (10) functioning as a sealing member for sealing the joining sections (711, 141) is disposed between the edge (14) and the attachment unit (71).
