Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an illumination device capable of preventing a cold cathode light emitting body from colliding with the inner surface etc., of a tube main body and also capable of improving strength. [Solution] An illumination device comprising: a tube main body (4) wherein the whole circumference is light permeable and which forms a hollow tube shape; a cold cathode light emitting body (7) of a rod shape; and a surrounding member (8) that is light permeable and which surrounds the cold cathode light emitting body (7) across substantially the entire length in the longitudinal direction of the cathode light emitting body. The surrounding member (8) is arranged inside the hollow of the tube main body (4) and an engaging part (11) disposed in the surrounding member (8) is engaged with an engagement part (13) disposed in the inner circumference of the tube main body (4) and, as a result, the cold cathode light emitting body (7) is held by the tube main body (4) via the surrounding member (8).
