Abstract:
An illumination device has a surface-emission illumination means including a light source (11) for radiating surface-emission illumination light through a light guide plate (17), and constitutes a spot light illumination means including a second light source (13) for radiating spot illumination light through a substantially central section of the light guide plate (17) in a direction orthogonal to the light guide plate (17). A lens (15) that causes convergence or divergence of the spot illumination light is configured integrally with a diffusion plate (16) that is disposed, for example, in front of the light guide plate (17) and determines illumination characteristics relating to the illumination range and/or to the quantity of illumination light of the surface-emission illumination.
