Abstract:
[Problem] An objective of the present invention is to provide an illumination device comprising an illumination unit which can be used as a transparent window panel when switched off, and which, during illumination, can project illumination light in only a desired direction while still being see-through. [Solution] This illumination device comprises a light emitting panel which emits planar light according to a drive signal and is translucent, and a shutter which covers one face of the light emitting panel and which is electrically controlled to open and close according to a switching signal. The light emitting panel is switched on only during the closed period of the electrically controlled shutter.
