Abstract:
Provided is an illumination device with which it is possible to safely illuminate, with a simple configuration, a desired region using coherent light. The illumination device 1 is provided with a laser light source (coherent light source) 11, a light diffusion element 14, and a light scanning device 21. The laser light source 11 emits laser light (coherent light) L. The light diffusion element 14 diffuses the laser light L from the laser light source 11. The light scanning device 21 guides the laser light L to a component illumination region constituting a part of the illumination region, and scans the laser light L from the light diffusion element 14 in the illumination region.
