Abstract:
A coherent light beam (L110) from a light source (110) is scanned by a scan member (120) and enters a light reception surface of a light diffusion element (130). The entry light beam (L120) is emitted as diffused light (L130), and forms, via an illumination optical system (140), a write spot (D) on a surface to be illuminated (S). A scan control unit (150) controls the scanning of the light beam (L120) in accordance with an arrow-shaped pattern, whereby an illuminated area (LA) having an arrow shape is formed on the surface to be illuminated (S) due to a moving write spot (D). The light diffusion element (130) performs anisotropic diffusion for widening the entry light beam mainly in an X-axis direction, and therefore the widening of the diffused light (L130) is deviated in one direction. Accordingly, it becomes possible to form, on the surface to be illuminated (S), a clear illuminated area (LA) in which blurring is suppressed, while ensuring safety with respect to coherent light.
