A light-bulb-shaped lamp (1) that is one example of this illumination light source is provided with: a globe (10); a support pillar (30) provided extending towards the inside of the globe (10); an LED module (20) connected to one end of the support pillar (30); a support member (40) connected to the other end of the support pillar (30); a heat sink (70) having an aperture (70a) into which the support member (40) is fitted; a circuit board (51) disposed in a manner so as to have a primary surface intersecting the axis of the support pillar (30); a plurality of circuit elements (52) mounted to the circuit board (51); a circuit case (60) configured in a manner so as to encircle the circuit elements (52); and a base (90) connected to a portion of the circuit case (60). A first region (A) at which the temperature rises primary due to heat arising from the LED module (20), and a second region (B) at which the temperature rises primary due to heat arising from the plurality of circuit elements (52) are separated by the circuit board (51).
