Abstract:
[Problem] To alleviate, in an illumination optical assembly, declining illumination light use efficiency or unevenness in light emission without increasing the size of a device. [Solution] An illumination optical assembly comprises: a plurality of light sources (111A, 111B) of mutually different types; a light combining optical assembly (121) which combines each light beam (Ka, Kb) emitted from the light sources (111A, 111B) and makes the light beams (Ka, Kb) converge on the same location; and a rod integrator (130) whereon each light beam which is made to converge on the same location enters from the entry face at one end (130N), makes uniform the light intensity distribution of each light beam which enters from this entry face (130N), and emits same from the entry face at the other end (130S). The light combining optical assembly (121) is configured by positioning relay optical units (121A, 121B) for each light source (111A, 111B), and each relay optical unit (121A, 121B) has a different relay magnification from the others.
