Abstract:
An illumination system comprises a lens array (2) where a plurality of spherical surfaces (2b) of identical shape are formed continuously and directly above a line, a wiring board (3) disposed substantially in parallel with the lens array (2) at a predetermined interval, and light emitting diodes (4) respectively disposed between each spherical face (2b) of the lens array (2) and the wiring board (3) in such a manner that the optical axis k becomes substantially normal to the surface of the wiring board (3). The light emitting diodes (4) are arranged on the wiring board (3) at pitches y and z different from the pitch x for forming the spherical surfaces (2b).
