Abstract:
The present invention relates to an LPR system capable of accurately recognizing a vehicle license number by using images captured by front and rear camera modules, and determining the type of vehicle on the basis of image analysis. The LPR system relating to one embodiment of the present invention can comprise: a front camera module for capturing a first image including a front license plate of a vehicle in correspondence to the entry of the vehicle on an entrance/exit road; a rear camera module for capturing a second image including a rear license plate of the vehicle; a license plate determination unit for recognizing a first text and a second text on the basis of the photographed front license plate and rear license plate, and combining the recognized texts so as to complete a vehicle license number of the vehicle; a user input unit for designating a first area and a second area, which are partial areas among the entire areas of the first image and the second image displayed on a display unit; and a vehicle type determination unit for detecting a front license plate area and a headlight area of the vehicle in the first area, and detecting the rear license plate area and a taillight area of the vehicle in the second area, thereby determining whether the vehicle is a vehicle of a preset type.
