Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an image-based product checkout method and apparatus, a medium, and an electronic device. The method comprises: performing detection with respect to an acquired image to undergo checkout, and determining, from said image, a region image of products to undergo checkout; performing low-dimensional mapping on the region image of the products, and obtaining feature vectors corresponding to the respective products; identifying, on the basis of the feature vectors of the respective products, price information corresponding to the feature vectors of the respective products from a preset feature vector identification database; and performing summing with respect to the identified price information, and outputting a total checkout amount for the image to undergo checkout. The technical solution proposed in the embodiments of the present disclosure can be used in a retail checkout scenario to identify products placed on a checkout counter by a user without requiring an operator to perform checkout, to identify the quantity and categories of the products, and to automatically, quickly, and accurately calculate a total checkout amount, thereby reducing costs.
