Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to allow carrying out a focus adjustment while viewing a split image when manually focusing, and in particular, to allow displaying a color split image without color misalignment. An image capture element comprises: phase difference pixel groups (first and second pixel groups) which correspond to first and second images having a phase difference which is associated with a focal misalignment; and a third pixel group corresponding to a regular third image. A Bayer array first image and second image are outputted from the first and second pixel groups, a third image is outputted from the third pixel group with the same color array as a RAW image. In addition to a color split image being generated on the basis of the first and second images which are acquired from the image capture element, a color image for display is generated on the basis of the third image, and the color split image is composited in a portion of the generated color image for display, and a live view image is displayed in which the split image is composited.
