Abstract:
The present invention provides a signal processing device that makes it possible to obtain favorable images in which glare components have been reduced, even in such a general-purpose image capture device as has no mechanical driver mechanism. An image capture device comprises: an image acquisition unit that acquires an input image signal; a signal processing unit that receives and processes the input image signal, and outputs an output image signal; and a storage unit that stores the output image signal on a medium. The signal processing unit comprises: a smoothed brightness calculation unit 1 that calculates a smoothed brightness by smoothing an input brightness signal, within a first smoothing range, at the periphery of each of a plurality of pixel signals included in the input image signal; and a brightness signal processing unit 2 that compares the input brightness signal with the smoothed brightness and downscales at a first rate the difference between the input brightness signal and the smoothed brightness if the input brightness signal is greater than the smoothed brightness, thereby generating an output brightness signal which is substituted for the input brightness signal.
