Abstract:
The present technology relates to an image capture element and an electronic apparatus which make it possible to expand the amount of saturation signal charge. The image capture element is provided with, in this order in a depth direction from the side of a semiconductor substrate on which a wiring layer is stacked: a first P-type impurity region; a capacity expanding portion forming a P-N junction plane from a second P-type impurity region and a first N-type impurity region; and a first N-type impurity region. In a plane of the capacity expanding portion vertically intersecting the depth direction, the second P-type impurity region is formed in stripes. In the plane of the capacity expanding portion vertically intersecting the depth direction, the stripes are formed in a direction perpendicular to the sides in which electrodes for reading accumulated charges are formed. The present technology may be applied to an image capture element, for example.
