Abstract:

This image-capturing element is characterized in being provided with: a plurality of pixels arranged in two-dimensional matrix form and used for receiving light from the outside, generating an image-capture signal according to the received amount of light, and outputting the generated signal; a first transfer line connected to the pixels and used for transferring the image-capture signal; a second transfer line to which the image-capture signal transferred by the first transfer line is outputted; a column selection switch for selecting one pixel column from the two-dimensional matrix and outputting, to the second transfer line, the image-capture signal transferred by the first transfer line; a column source follower possessing a gate to which the image-capture signal transferred by the first transfer line is inputted, and having a drain end connected to a power supply voltage and a source end connected to the column selection switch; and a potential-setting means for setting a potential on the source-end side of the column source follower to a prescribed potential.
