Abstract:
This technology relates to an image capturing element and an electronic device which make it possible for images to be captured with reduced color mixing. Two or more opto-electrical conversion layers having opto-electrical conversion portions that are divided into pixel units are stacked on one another. The configuration includes a state in which light that has entered one pixel in a first photoelectric conversion layer on the side closer to an optical lens is received by an opto-electrical conversion portion of a second photoelectric conversion layer on the side further from the optical lens. A light shielding layer which shields light that has been transmitted through the first photoelectric conversion layer is provided between the first photoelectric conversion layer and the second photoelectric conversion layer. An opening portion that allows light from the first photoelectric conversion layer to be transmitted to the second photoelectric conversion layer is provided in the light shielding layer. The opening portion opens asymmetrically relative to the pixels in the first photoelectric conversion layer. This technique can be applied to image capturing elements having a multilayer structure.
