Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide an image capturing system and an image capture control method which improve operability when specifying a desired subject. An image capturing system according to a preferred mode of embodiment of the present invention is provided with: a display means for displaying image data on a display screen; a specification accepting means which accepts a specification by a user of an arbitrarily defined position within the display screen; a timing means for timing a first time period from when a first position at which a first specified subject is displayed within the display screen is specified until a second position is specified; a determining means for determining whether the first time period is shorter than a first threshold time period; an acquiring means for acquiring a third position, which is the position of the first specified subject within the display screen when the second position was specified; and an averaging means for acquiring a fourth position, obtained by finding the simple average or the weighted average of the second position and the third position. If the determining means determines that the first time period is shorter than the first threshold time period, a pan-tilt control means causes a second specified subject being displayed at the fourth position to be displayed at a target position.
