Abstract:

Image carrier units (40a - 40d) are each provided with an image carrier (1a - 1d), a charging device (2a - 2d), and a pair of support frames (51a, 51b). The charging device (2a - 2d) has: a charging roller (21) that charges the image carrier (1a - 1d) by rotation driven by the image carrier (1a - 1d); a cleaning member (23) for cleaning the charging roller (21); a pair of bearing members (92a, 92b) for rotatably supporting both end parts of the cleaning member (23) and the charging roller (21); and biasing members (76) for biasing the bearing members (92a, 92b) in a direction in which the same moves closer to the image carrier (1a - 1d). An image carrier bearing part (85) and a first cleaning member bearing part (87) for rotatably supporting one end part of the rotating shaft (23a) for the cleaning member (23) where an input side gear (80) is provided, are formed integrally on a first support frame (51a) for supporting one end part of the image carrier (1a - 1d) where an output side gear (45) is provided.
